Home Tour Inspired
The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League added the Brettonwood neighborhood to it’s midst in 2014. Many of us were introduced to the neighborhood during the Home Tour, as we drove down the winding streets & the towering trees in the southern sector of Oak Cliff.
Boundaries are South: Ledbetter, East: Hampton, North: Kiestwood Trail, & West: Boulder. There are about 500 household, with structures ranging from 1950 to 1960. Brettonwood has a variety of houses built mostly in the 1950’s, which include ranches, traditional and mid- century moderns. Most of the neighbors say that the thing they most like about the neighborhood is the trees.
The neighborhood association’s purpose is to promote a better community. The Neighborhood started as a Nextdoor community in May 2012, & became a Neighborhood Association in Sep 2014. They have a very active Neighborhood Association, and began accepting dues for the first full year beginning January 2015. They still have a VERY active Nextdoor community as well as several years of successful crime watch and National Night Out gatherings.
